Throughout her 26-year Air Force career she had many assignments including Aero Medical Evacuation during Vietnam, Nurse Recruitment Officer, Chief Nurse Air Reserve Personnel Center, and other assignments throughout the US and Europe. She received numerous awards to include the Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Legion of Merit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Don Utt. She is survived by two brothers, Bob and wife Rosalyn Dowling and Swanson Dowling; four nephews, Chad, Greg, Chris, Connor; six nieces, Georgia, Kim, Allyson, Stephanie, Ashley, and Meagan, all residing in VA; three stepdaughters, Kimberlee Martin, Kristie Halphen, Keeley Henry; and five step-grandchildren, Jennifer, David, Sean, Wesley, and Tara. She also leaves behind many dear friends.
