Janie worked as a riveter at Kelly Field during the 1940's and supported her family by her favorite pastime, sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Ysabel Salas Trujillo and Florentina Castillo Alonso; 5 sisters and 2 brothers; her first born, George Barrientos; her youngest son, Jorge Barrientos; first grandson, Christopher Chavez and great-grandchild, Bryanna Chavez.
Janie is survived by her daughters, Maria (Abel Corpus), Irma (Antonio Chavez), Yolanda (John Davis), Betty (Hector Corpus) Blanca (Martin Hernandez); son, Fernando T. Barrientos (Linda); daughter-in-law, Blanca Barrientos; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave.
There will be a Procession from Porter Loring on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. going to Holy Family Catholic Church, 152 Florencia for a Mass at 9:00 a.m.
Interment in San Fernando Cemetery II.
