Surviving siblings are her brother, Mr. Raymond Flores; and sisters, Helen Flores, Maria Martinez-Briseno, Hortencia Martinez, and Linda Luis (Houston).
Janie loved and adored her children; daughter, Alma Marie Leyva (husband Ruben Leyva); son, Pete Campa (wife Yolanda Campa); daughter, Mary Frances Campa, daughter, Diana Hernandez (husband Mario Hernandez), and daughter, Crystal Lopez (husband Teddy Lopez); 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Janie attended Harris Middle School, Burbank High School then attended a Business School. Prior to working at The American Lung Association, she worked as a seamstress for many years. She later worked as a paralegal for her husband, Attorney Raul Villarreal.
In her earlier years, she loved to dance, dress up and was a true fashionista. One of her favorite things to do was to shop for herself and her family. She always thought of everyone and surprised you with little gifts when you least expected it. She loved reading her bible, watching the Christian Channel and adored our Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul.
Her family and friends have many wonderful memories and funny stories to remember her by. We will hold our mother’s teachings and legacy dear to our hearts forever and will miss her tremendously. Our love for her has no words.
Janie’s family would like to thank everyone at The Methodist Hospital, especially the doctors and nursing staff who did a wonderful job of treating her and our family with respect during the most difficult times. We are so very grateful for all the hugs, words of encouragement and prayers.
