Jean F Hausrath

August 9, 1931October 18, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Jean F. Hausrath announces her peaceful passing on October 18, 2019 at the age of 88. After battling Alzheimer’s for many years, she is able to reunite with her soul mate, Dean Hausrath, and other family members.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen and Nancy Hausrath; her grandchildren, Jonathan and Madison Fay; her step children, Lynn Peters and Scott Hausrath; her siblings, Wanda Hopkins, Gerald Hausrath and Don Hausrath; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her giving nature, sense of humor and passion for life.

She dedicated her life to being a loving wife to her late husband of 46 years, Dean Hausrath, before his passing in 2011. Jean was also a devoted mother and home maker to her daughters, loved to host and entertain her friends and volunteered her time with many organizations over the years. Dean and Jean’s ashes will be spread at their favorite family destination, Yosemite National Park in California. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) in her honor.

We also hope that you take a few moments to write about your favorite memory of her or both her and Dean.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jean's entire family. It's always painful to realize the end of an era, regardless of the circumstances. Our hearts go out to Jean and Dean's daughter, Nancy Hausrath Fay, and to our grandchildren, Jonathan and Madison Fay, wishing them strength in the coming days and years, knowing their mother and grandmother loved them and wished them the best life can offer. With sympathy, Barbara and Bill Fay.

So many memories of the wonderful summers I spent with the Hausrath family in Saratoga. Such fun times and nothing was ever too much for Jean. She organized parties, took us to play tennis, to visit San Fransisco and so much more...Never without a smile on her face. Thank you Jean. You were a very special lady❤️

Auntie J was one of the most inspirational people in my life. She was full of love, both for Uncle Dean and her family. She was always there for me as well.
Her life was grace and faith. It was my privilege to know her as well as I have.
Love to my cousins, Karen and Nancy that she loved dearly! ❤️❤️
