I offer sympathy to Jean's children and grandchildren for their loss. Jean was my neighbor  and  her children were friends of my daughter & son. She was a good friend & neighbor. She will live on in my memories. She was a big hero in the Blizzard of 1967 when we got about 24" of snow with a lot of wind drifting the snow. Largest snow in history-kids all stuck at school. Jean put on her jodhpur pants & boots and walked thru the woods over a mile to the school. She bought home my daughter her daughter &  son-everyone was freezing. She really was a hero. The storm lasted over 2 days, kids stuck at school.
I remember when the school superintendent fired a teacher for taking a day off that bought a large protest from teachers and parents. A lot of teachers were going to leave because of the firing.  The superintendents last name was Krula. Jean marched in the protest carrying a sign, she made- that said "Cruel, Cruel- Krula".  The 7th grade teacher was reinstalled with Jean's help. Jean s a good person who believed in what was right-we need more people like her.  I will never forget what a good person she was. Now she is heaven, till we met again.

Mom ahh where do I start?  You have always been there for so much of my life, to help, give advice, listen and just knowing that you were always concerned what was going on in my life. I also was always looking out for you too even if you didn't always realize how much I cared and tried to advise you to make the right decisions about some of your catalog purchases that you thought that you needed.  Lol....  Anyway I'm so glad for all the fun times  and years that  we had together as there are just too many to even mention.... Love you so much Mom and rest in heavenly peace....

Jean was the best Mother-in- law a person could ask for. She was as tough as nails
but had a kind and gentle heart. 
  Her faith in religion was very strong and she showed it in many ways.
It was a pleasure when my wife Lark and I visited her in Round Rock,Texas and a blessing when we talked her into selling her house and moving closer to us in 
San Antonio. 
  There wasn't a Christma that I can remember that went by that Jean didn't make Cookies for the neighbors and she and  Lark would go out to deliver them.
We love her and she will be truly missed.

Jean was a welcoming person.  When we moved next door to her and Ed almost 31 years ago, little did I know how close we would become.  We exercised together for some months by lifting weights while talking and laughing.  We shared recipes and borrowed cups of sugar or eggs or whatever from each other.  That's what neighbors do.  But as the years passed, we became friends also.  After Ed died, we went out to eat together occasionally, sat and talked in her home or mine, and went to movies together.  She called me one time when a deer was giving birth to twins right outside her sliding glass door, and my youngest son and I went over and watched with her.  We also watched out for each other - esp. when a roofing guy tried to scam her out of money.  That truly made me angry.  She was always good-hearted, caring, and easy to talk to about anything.   She loved her family fiercely just like all good moms do and she talked of them with love often.  To know Jean was to love her and I do and always will.  My love to all her family - may they know that her eternal home was ready and waiting as were those who had gone before her waiting to welcome her beyond the shadowlands of her earthly home.
