Our mom was always there for us, kids; she built a world, in which we felt safe, loved, cared for, and protected. She created amazing meals, which brought family together around the table for holidays and low-key dinners alike. She always checked on us, celebrating our victories and consoling us in our defeats. She kept a picture-perfect home, filled with warmth, smell of cookies, and scent of vanilla candles.
Born to Frank and Greta Ferran, Jeanette was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Lee High School in San Antonio and attended San Antonio College before landing a job at Trinity Bank. Jeanette ultimately chose to settle down in a role of a homemaker, centering her life on her family. She masterfully juggled her role as a mom of three, a caretaker of her aging parents, and a devoted wife.
Jeanette was passionate about traveling and exploring, having visited both coasts, the Mississippi Delta, Europe, and the Caribbean. In her explorations, she discovered her wild side, becoming the Slot Machine Queen of Las Vegas. “WIN-WIN-WIN” was the lucky motto, feared deeply by casinos.
Jeanette is survived by her grieving family: children Christopher (Bonnie), Tyson (Lina), and Alysa (Ryan); grandchildren Harper, Hadley, and Riggs; brothers Frank (Rosalie) and Gary; and fur babies Bella and Tita. She is preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 37 years Charles Eugene Mize; her parents Frank and Greta Ferran (Omi & Opi); and fur babies Duchess, Freckles, and Smokey Joe.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.
