Jeanné Marie Stains, best known as "Jonni" to all who had the joy of knowing her, was born November 12, 1953, in Orleans, France to her beloved parents Watson A. Stains Jr and Beatrice A. Stains. She was proud to point out that the Army hospital where she was born was reminiscent of the tent hospital featured in the hit TV show, M*A*S*H.
Jonni and her family moved to San Antonio in 1962 when her father began work in the Civil Service. A graduate of John Jay High School, she embarked on a career as a Dental Hygienist before finding her true calling in the world of print and advertising. Jonni made lifelong friends throughout her journey as a project manager for Clear Visions Printing and as a production manager for Anderson Marketing and later Creative Link. She became a partner at Connor Creative Co., with her longtime colleague and dear friend, Mike Connor. Throughout her career, Jonni's clients and colleagues appreciated her for her talent and integrity, but more importantly, they adored her for her good-heartedness and genuine nature. In an industry of “many”, Jonni was truly one of a kind.
Jonni is survived by her loving husband, Roger Walden; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Matthew Diethelm; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Fran Stains; sisters Maryann Reeves and Elizabeth Stains; as well as her three nieces, two nephews, two grand nephews, and many, many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 23 at 12 noon at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio.
As a lover of animals, Jonni's wish was that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Animal Defense League of Texas.
The world is a better place because Jonni was in it. She will be missed dearly and remembered always.
