
Jeannie Margaret Braulick Sagebiel age 56 was called to her "home prepared" on January 19, 2002. She was born February 6, 1945 in Waverly, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Roald Braulick and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Nolan Sagebiel; her mother, Margaret Droste Braulick; sister, Judy Klase and husband Richard of Katy, TX; brother, Rev. Dr. John Braulick and wife Roslin of San Antonio; sister, Janice Richter and husband Ray Mac of Leander, TX; sister, Jennifer Rendon of San Antonio; two stepsons, Nolan Sagebiel, Jr. and wife Kara of San Antonio; Phil Sagebiel of San Antonio and one granddaughter the love of her life Carly Alyse Sagebiel of San Antonio; many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins from all over the U.S. Jeannie graduated from Jefferson High School and Texas Lutheran University with a degree in mass communications and a minor in religion. She was an avid church worker and volunteer for many non-profit social service organizations. When her husband retired, they moved to their dream home on the Crabapple Creek in Gillespie County. During the time, Jeannie served as the director of the Golden Hub Senior Center in Fredericksburg. For the past five years, Jeannie was employed as a rural transportation specialist with the Alamo area Council of Governments in San Antonio serving 13 counties surrounding Bexar County. Last year Jeannie enrolled in a special program of the Southwestern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church to train to be a Synod Approved Minister. She proudly reached her first step and preached a sermon and conducted a service last October. On November 1 she underwent emergency surgery for a massive cancerous tumor. She succumbed to the aggressive disease Saturday, January 19, 2002. The family will receive friends at Porter Loring Mortuary North on Sunday, from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.
