Jeff Lantz was a beautiful soul whose life was filled with love, laughter, compassion, and a spirit that could never be contained. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on the hearts of those who knew and loved him will live on forever.
Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Luz Salinas, and his cousin, Marky Valdez, who will forever hold a special place in his heart and in the memories of his family.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory always: his mother, Matilda Fuentes; his Pops, Joseph Fuentes; his sisters, Jessica Aguilar (Ruben), Vanessa Lantz (Joe Garcia), and Kristen Sanchez (Henry); and his brothers, William "Billy" Lantz, Michael Fuentes (Sandy), and Matthew Fuentes. He was a proud and loving uncle to his nephews, Jason and Jagger Criollo, Christian Aguilar, Caleb Garcia, Hunter and Brandon Sanchez, Jake, Jude, and Jamie Lantz, and Mikey, Joseph, and Andrew Fuentes; and his nieces, Jaylen Criollo, Brooklyn Lantz, and Celeste, Angelina, and Aubrey Fuentes. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives were made brighter simply because Jeff was part of them.
Jeff graduated from Burbank High School and continued his education through some college coursework. Throughout his professional life, he made his mark in the hotel industry, serving as a General Manager at several hotels. Always continuing to grow and explore new paths, Jeff recently earned his certificate as a Behavior Technician, beginning a new chapter working with children with special needs. This achievement reflected the caring heart he carried throughout his life and his desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
A free spirit at heart, Jeff loved skateboarding, biking, the outdoors, painting, writing, traveling, and spending time with friends. He had a special love for handstands, a playful passion that perfectly captured his unique personality and his ability to see the world a little differently. Whether he was creating something beautiful, putting his thoughts into words, or simply enjoying the moment, Jeff brought his own unmistakable energy to everything he did.
But above all, Jeff will be remembered for his loving and compassionate heart.
He wore his heart on his sleeve and was never afraid to speak his truth. He loved his family and friends with everything he had and always wanted the very best for the people in his life. He was the kind of person who would give someone the shirt off his back without a second thought. His generosity was genuine, his loyalty ran deep, and his love was given freely.
Jeff was also a truly gifted writer. He had a beautiful way of expressing his thoughts and feelings, putting into words what others sometimes struggled to say. Through his writing, he shared pieces of his heart, leaving behind a glimpse of the depth, sensitivity, and beauty of his soul.
And then there was his humor. Jeff was SO, SO, SO funny! His laughter was absolutely the BEST, the kind of laughter that could fill a room, lift a heavy heart, and turn an ordinary moment into a treasured memory. His humor, his adventurous spirit, his honesty, and his ability to love so deeply made him one of a kind.
Jeff lived with his heart wide open. He loved fiercely, felt deeply, spoke honestly, and gave generously. He reminded those around him that life is meant to be lived, that love is meant to be shared, and that laughter is one of the greatest gifts we can give one another.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find comfort in the memories he created, the words he wrote, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His life will continue to live on in the stories told around family gatherings, in the memories shared among friends, in the words he left behind, and in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Jeff, you were deeply loved, and you will be missed more than words could ever express. Your light, your laughter, your beautiful heart, and your unforgettable spirit will remain with us always.
Until we meet again, may you be free to travel, explore, create, laugh, and do handstands wherever your beautiful soul may be.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
