

Jeffrey P. Blanchard passed away on June 19, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 25, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas to Mary and H.J. (Doc) Blanchard.
Jeff received his BBA in 1975 and MBA in 1977 from the University of Texas at Austin. In 1984, Mr. Blanchard founded First Capital Group of Texas, Ltd., a private equity investment partnership, and served as its general partner for thirty years. In 1989, Mr. Blanchard was chosen as Entrepreneur of the Year in South Texas by Ernst & Young and Inc. Magazine.
He was active in local and statewide activities, having served on the boards and/or committees of the Texas Capital Network, The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Keystone School Chairman of the Board, Texas Military Institute, and President of the Monte Vista Historical Association.
Jeff is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Jerilyn Wilson Blanchard; his son, Justin Wayne Blanchard; his daughter, Jaselyn Blanchard; his mother, Mary Blanchard from Lubbock; his sister, Adrienne Nichols from Lubbock; his brothers, John Ben Blanchard (Rhonda) and Hank Blanchard (Denise) from Amarillo, his brother, Clif Blanchard (Kathy) from Austin; his brother-in-law, Gary Wilson (Susan) from Port Aransas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
