

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Hurshel Gainey and Lillian Esther Anderegg Gainey, and his brother, Tom Gainey.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Mona Gainey; his brothers, Michael Gainey (Youli) and Kevin Gainey (Monica); his sister, Debbie Yoakum (Gary); his children, Dawn Finnamore (Daniel), Cody Gainey (Kelsey), Katherine Small, and Kimberly Perez (Kevin); and his cherished grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Jase, Joann, Joshua, Elizabeth, Audrey, Rebekah, and Enzo. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jeffrey attended Samuel Clemens High School and later earned an associate degree from Hallmark Institute of Technology. He spent many years working as a truck driver before joining Walmart, where he continued to demonstrate the strong work ethic and dependability that defined his character.
Outside of work, Jeffrey enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved fishing, reading, watching movies, and was a true movie buff who could always appreciate a great film. He also enjoyed following just about every sport and, above all, spending time with his grandchildren. Jeffrey had a special love for his beloved furbabies, who brought him endless joy and companionship. He was a loyal fan of the San Antonio Spurs, the Texas Longhorns, and the Dallas Cowboys, and he enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for sports with family and friends.
Those who knew Jeffrey will remember him for his kindness, gentle spirit, genuine love for others, and wonderful sense of humor. He was someone people could always count on—especially because he was always on time. His steady presence, warm heart, and quiet generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Jeffrey's memory will live on through the love he shared with his family, friends, and cherished pets. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of compassion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
