

Jeneane was escorted by angels into the arms of Jesus on Feb.2, 2014. She was born in Temple, Texas on Jan.22, 1931 to Merle Modesett Davis and Hume Davis. Her family moved to San Antonio at an early age. She attended Brackenridge High School, and completed her education in Granger, Texas at Granger High School. In 1950 she married William (Rick) Ricketson and they were immediately stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii where her loving daughter Patsy was born. Being a military family, Jeneane and Patsy returned to San Antonio when Rick was assigned to Korea. In 1963, they were stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. In 1966, they returned to San Antonio. Jeneane worked as a bookkeeper several places, with her last two employers being builder Doug Saunders, before becoming the "Mother Hen" to all the "Deanie Owens" Southwest Realtors. She retired in 1982. Jeneane was an adamant animal lover. She loved watching classic western movies, CMT, as well as feeding the squirrels and birds that frequented her backyard. Towards the latter part of her life, she became an avid Spurs fan, and everyone knew not to interrupt her during a game.
Jeneane was preceded in death by her mother and father, and stepfather Johnny Sprenger, a great grandchild, many aunts, uncles and cousins (mostly from the Granger Texas area). She is survived by her only daughter Patricia (Dennis) Smith, Grandchildren; Tamra (Ronnie) Kuykendall, Quinn Peterson, Hannah (Sarah) Serrano, Micah Smith, Cody Smith, and Benjamin Smith. She has numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Sprenger Matte and husband John, Nieces; Dawn Jackson and family, and Michelle (Jason) Ruhnke and family. All surviving relatives live in San Antonio. Special thank you to our cousin Dr. Bill Thomas, of Waco Texas, for helping us coordinate the arrangements in Granger.
The visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 beginning at 6:00 P.M. followed by the funeral service at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy. Interment will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in the Beard Family Cemetery, Granger, Texas.
