Jennifer Lea Jennings

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but most especially by her son and his family, Chase, Alyssa, and Charlie Brincat of New Braunfels, Texas. Additionally, Jennifer is survived by her cherished and faithful friend, Minerva "Mimi" Pena, her nephews and nieces from the Settle and Brincat families, and her sister Rita Horton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert "Bob" Brincat, Jr., her parents, Harry Jennings and Wilma McCollum, her brother, Sonny Jennings and her sister, Alice Settle.

Born on January 22, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jennifer spent her youth in Farmington and Kansas City. After graduating from high school in Kansas City, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to attend Trinity University to study Television and Film. She was a proud member of the Chi Beta Epsilon sorority. During her years at Trinity, Jennifer formed lifelong friendships that she treasured and faithfully nurtured throughout her life.

After college, Jennifer made San Antonio her home where she pursued her passion for photography. With the support and encouragement of early mentors, she established Heartstrings by Jennifer Jennings, a thriving fine portrait studio renowned for capturing not only beautiful images but also the unique spirit of every subject. Jennifer had a keen eye for lighting, props, and set design. She embraced technology and transitioned from film to digital early on.

Over the years, she photographed countless families, newborns, children, high school seniors, professionals, local celebrities and sports figures. Many clients became dear lifelong friends, a testament to Jennifer's warmth and genuine interest in people.

On a blind date in the late 80’s Jennifer met the love of her life, Bob Brincat. The two were married in Northern Michigan and enjoyed many happy times together and with their circle of friends. Their proudest achievement as a couple was their son, Charles Robert “Chase” Brincat III, who brought them much joy and kept them busy with his sports and friends.

Jennifer served her community, dedicating her time, hospitality, and generous support to organizations she held dear. She was an active member of the San Antonio Junior Forum and a proud Life Member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition (S.A.L.E.).

In retirement, Jennifer found new joy in opening her home to others as a vacation rental host. She delighted in welcoming travelers to San Antonio, sharing her beautiful home, favorite local spots, and generous hospitality with guests from near and far. True to form, this chapter allowed her to collect yet another circle of friends.

Jennifer's greatest loves were Bob and Chase. She had a passion for planning and hosting elaborate gatherings. She loved to travel, especially to Europe and the American Southwest, collecting distinctive art and artisan jewelry along the way. At home, she found a sanctuary in her garden, companionship in her dogs, and joy in long, unrushed dinners with close friends.

Jennifer will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gift for bringing people together, her gracious hospitality, her adventurous spirit, and her ability to make everyone she met feel welcomed and valued. Her kindness, creativity, and zest for life leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at Grace Point Church, 9650 Huebner Rd, San Antonio, TX 78240, with a reception to follow.
