Jennifer S. Parrish passed peacefully in her sleep at her home in San Antonio, TX on March 18, 2017 after a brave fight against cancer. She is survived by Mark Parrish, her husband of 33 years, and her two sons Benjamin and Jackson Parrish. She was born on June 12, 1961 in Yokosuka, Japan to Dr. Joseph James Symon and Claire Symon.
Jennifer, affectionately known as “Binnie” to her siblings and “Jen” to her friends, devoted her life to the raising of her two boys after a career in Petroleum Land Management following her graduation from the University of Texas at Austin. Jen prided herself in volunteer work at her sons’ school, providing invaluable contributions to the Speech and Debate program. She was known as an efficient organizer, a benevolent volunteer, a devoted wife and mother, but mostly as the strongest, bravest woman anyone ever knew. A role model and mother to us all, Jen will be deeply missed, as her impact on the lives of others was truly immeasurable.
Services will be held Friday, March 24, at AHUMC in the Sanctuary at 10:00am, followed by a brief reception at the Parrish residence. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christ Healing Center, which meant a great deal to Jen as it lifted her in prayer and fellowship.
Arrangements under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
