Jeremiah “Jeremy” Douglas Guerra, a beloved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to all passed away on July 02, 2024, in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Born to Stephanie Barrett and Jeremiah “JD” Guerra on July 27, 1996.
Jeremiah’s journey was not easy by any means; however, he always looked out for those younger and weaker than he was. At a tender age, he learned to be strong and fearless for his siblings. Now that they are grown, they look upon him as both a role model as well as a father like figure.
Jeremiah’s strength was displayed best by his sense of humor. When he would enter a room, laughter would shortly follow. As a child, he spent most of his time with his many cousins who were so close that they could all be seen as siblings. There are innumerable stories of their unimaginable adventures, pranks, and ridiculous dares, in which they all knew he was fearless and would do anything he was challenged to do. He was courageous and confident and full of endless love for his family.
He married his high school sweetheart, Angela Irene Mendiola. Shortly after marriage, he was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Sophia Rae and Olivia Irene. Although he was young, he embraced fatherhood with everything he had. The light of his life were his daughters. They were his everything and his drive to be the best version of himself possible. The last few months of his life were consumed with being with “His Girl’s” and creating beautiful memories that his daughter’s will be able to cherish forever.
Jeremiah loved Jesus and was not afraid to share his faith. The desire of his heart was to educate and persuade others to give their lives to the Lord. He knew unquestionably that Jesus was the Lord of Lord’s and King of Kings.
His father, Jeremiah Guerra Sr, Grandmother Cynthia Barrett, and his Uncle Robert Cantu preceded Jeremiah in death. He is survived and deeply missed by his loving daughters, Sophia and Olivia Guerra, his mother, Stephanie Guerra, his brother Darean Guerra, sister Hannah Cavazos, and brother-in-law Luis Cavazos. He also leaves behind his maternal Grandmother Deborah Barrett, maternal grandparents Ernest and Gail Barrett, his paternal grandmother Suzanne Cantu, and a close-knit family of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Jeremiah’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. As we say farewell to our beloved Jeremy, let us remember the good times, the love and laughter he brought to all of our lives!
