

Jerry Kendall Cross, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Ardley B Cross and Mittie White. He entered into military service, joining the Air Force in 1951 during the Korean War. For his service he received The National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal.
After leaving the service in 1955, Jerry worked for various construction companies and soon started his own construction company partnering with his father and his uncle Melvin. In the late 1960’s Jerry owned one of the first Humble Service Stations on San Pedro Ave. Over the course of his life, he owned several construction and trucking companies and continued working up into the last years of his life and achieved earning his Responsible Master Plumbers License at the age of 83.
Jerry met Florence Carver through mutual friends and married and started a family in 1958.
Jerry was preceded in death by, his wife Florence E Cross and daughter Florence E Baker. Jerry is survived by his daughters; Jerrilynne Farrell and husband (David Farrell), Jennifer Meador and his sons Jerry K. Cross, Jr. and wife (Gina Cross), and Matthew B. Cross. His grandchildren: David Farrell Jr, Justin Farrell, Jonathan Farrell, Christopher Meador, Jillian Chisholm, Jacob Baker, Kelsey Cady, and Gracey Torres. Jerry Cross also had sixteen great grandchildren.
A reception and time of visitation with family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, Texas.
A committal service with Full Military Honors and Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45pm, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Avenue, San Antonio, Texas.
Pallbearers will be David Farrell, Justin Farrell, Jonathan Farrell, Christopher Meador, Jacob Baker, Sean Cady, Christian Torres and Owen Chisholm.
