He was born on January 19, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to parents Rochelle (Capell) and John Emery Hudson.
Jerry graduated from Capitol Hill High School and went on to attend Oklahoma State University, where he began laying the foundation for a life marked by integrity, intelligence, and dedication. He spent his career with The Hartford Insurance Company, where he served as a Loss Control Manager. Known for his sharp mind, tireless work ethic, and unwavering sense of responsibility, Jerry brought excellence and honesty to every task.
But it was his role within his family that truly defined him. Jerry was the rock—offering strength, stability, and endless generosity. He was witty, funny, and impossibly smart. In fact, with his beloved daughter Aimee now by his side, heaven just got a whole lot smarter.
He found joy in the simple things, especially in playing softball—a lifelong passion he carried into his senior years through active participation in senior league teams. The camaraderie, competition, and love of the game brought him happiness and kept his spirit young.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rochelle and John Hudson, and by his cherished daughter, Aimee Hudson.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Holly Zepka and Mindy Tuttle; his beloved grandchildren, Levi, Mariah, Maisy, Howard, Kayla, Tayler, and Brayden; his brother, Phil Hudson; and his former wife, Susan Hudson, who remained a steadfast friend and stayed by his side to help him long after their divorce. Each carries forward his wisdom, humor, and the quiet strength he showed every day.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, TX 78232.
