What can I say man? It's been almost 10 years now...still hurts like it was yesterday. I still like to pop the hood on the Mustang and have a beer like we used to do. I wish you could've driven this one. I built it honor of you, gave it everything we talked about. Not a Saleen but, it's fast GT and Victoria is the only person I let drive it...easy to tell who taught her to drive lol 
I kept our promise, still here in Texas if the kids need anything. But, you and Paula did such a good job with them, they haven't really needed anything. That feels good, just seeing that they've each become their own versions of you. Your son is your twin now. We did a brake job together. Victoria is...Victoria, centered, smart and hard-working. And if you thought I was musically talented, your youngest daughter would blow your mind. You thought I was good. She will be greater! And I will be cheering her on every step of the way. And bro, she's a good driver too, like her dad! I'll teach her to do burnouts and donuts later, I PROMISE!!! 
My dreams are a mixture of memories and wishes sometimes. In one, you walked into my kitchen with your fishing gear, sat down at the table with me and asked me how the kids are doing. I said, "They're doing really good." You stood up, patted on the shoulder, smiled and wished me a good day before heading off to go fishing. Best dream ever. It brought me a somewhat sense of peace over losing you...made me question whether you had been with us all the long. 
Well, I have to go for now. Don't worry about your truck. Paula takes really good care of it.

I only knew Jerry for a short while in a working environment, but I can honestly say he was the friendliest person I've met. He was always upbeat and happy, with lots of kind words. I'm very sorry for the loss his family has had to face. My prayers go out to each of you.

Jerry was a very, happy, go lucky guy. He always had a smile on his face. We can never recall a time when he wasn't smiling. He was very gentle and caring with all our patients, and a pleasure to work with. He will be dearly missed.

While stationed in Puerto Rico in 2000, my family became blessed by having the Tate's as our neighbors. Paula quickly became my close friend and Jerry "D" Tate become a perfect mentor for our family. My husband and I were newlyweds, pregnant, deployed and inexperienced about life in general. He always gave great advice. "D" went over and beyond any average friendship. Thank you for everything you did for us and I hope someday to see you again to thank you personally. 
Paula, Demetrius & the girls, please always keep in touch and call me for anything you ever need. Goodbye Jerry "D" Tate. We love you all.

So sorry for your loss. I had worked every other weekend with Jerry in Alice for many years now and to know he won't be there with me to work will be very very hard for me.I will miss his laughter when we joked around and our talks during our long nites at work
