In 1964, Jerry joined the Army and served in England, Germany, Vietnam, and Korea. He received a Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal. After his military service, he had a successful career in business management software sales and as a manufacturer’s sales representative.
He married Sheila Barich in 1997. Jerry and Sheila took frequent trips to Europe with Jerry’s childhood friend, Lew and wife, Leslie Mathews.
Jerry was an avid hunter. He was an expert marksman and collected many animal trophies.
He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in both the Third and Fourth degrees. Jerry was instrumental in the formation of the Fourth Degree Council of St. Matthew’s/St. Paul’s parishes.
Jerry was preceded by his parents, and sisters, Areta Graham, and Cynthia Schuelke. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Warren; his son, William Mitchell; stepson, Jeffrey Garza; sisters, Doris Sharp and Barbara Fank; and his brother, Michael Warren.
Jerry was a very loving and caring son, brother, father, friend and husband. He will be greatly missed.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, TX, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
