

Jesse Chapa Sr., a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas, entered into eternal rest on June 10, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 23, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, Jesse lived a life filled with music, family, and unwavering passion for the things he loved.
Jesse was married to the love of his life, Marisela Chapa, for 28 wonderful years. Together they built a loving family and shared countless memories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose presence brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Known throughout the local music scene as the “Metal Messiah,” Jesse had a deep love for heavy metal music and could often be found attending local shows and concerts throughout San Antonio’s rock venues. He loved singing along at shows and sharing his enthusiasm for music with fellow fans. His passion extended beyond concerts, as he proudly collected band box sets, albums, cassette tapes, figurines, and memorabilia that reflected his lifelong dedication to the music he cherished.
Outside of music, Jesse enjoyed collecting swords and was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. Whether cheering on his favorite teams, discussing music with friends, or spending time with family, Jesse approached life with enthusiasm and authenticity.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marisela Chapa; his son, Jesse Victor Chapa Jr.; his daughter, Amada M. Herta; his mother, Maria Lamar Chapa; his siblings, Eddie Chapa, Richard Chapa, Debbie Alequinas , Moses Chapa, and Christy Ann Chapa; and his cherished grandchildren, Jayden, Eris, and Hailee, his mother-in-law, Erma A. Rodriguez, his tia-in-law, Edna and her Husband Brian, and his brothers-in-law, Miguel and his wife Tina, Mark and his wife Allie, Joe and his girlfriend Jennifer. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Felix Chapa Sr.
Though his voice may be silent, the music he loved and the memories he created will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Jesse’s legacy of love, loyalty, and passion for life will never be forgotten.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm.
