

Jesse was born on July 22, 1942, in Laredo, Texas and is the son of Hipolito Jimenez and Julia Avila Jimenez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hipolito and Julia Jimenez, his sister, Aurelia Jimenez, his brother John Jimenez and his late wife of 56 years, Andrea Padilla Jimenez.
He is survived by his younger brother, Hipolito Jimenez Jr (Antonia) of Indiana. Children, Gloria Gonzalez (Melba Alejos), Jesse H. Jimenez Jr. (Rosie), Julie Ann, Raul (Norma), and John W (Tammie), fourteen grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Jesse, though born in Laredo, Texas was raised in Indiana and joined the United States Marine Corps as a teenager. While in the Marine Corps, Jesse was a Bandsman and played trumpet with the Marine Corps Band. His greatest memories were playing for then President John F. Kennedy and serving as the Drum Major for the Marine Band.
After discharge from the Marine Corps, Jesse moved back to Laredo then to Eagle Pass, Texas where he met his wife, Andrea Padilla. They were married on March 15, 1968, and spent nearly six decades at each other’s side.
Jesse worked for Southwestern Bell, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Avaya Inc. and served as a Union Steward for several years. While actively employed, Jesse and his family were transferred from Eagle Pass to Pearsall, Victoria, Dallas, El Paso and San Antonio, Texas, where he subsequently retired.
After retirement, Jesse and his wife Andrea were volunteers for Meals on Wheels, delivering meals and providing transportation for handicapped seniors. They were also active with the American Legion and Veterans organizations.Jesse joins his wife only two months and one week from her passing. Jesse will be greatly missed by his children, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren and his beloved pets.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 AM.
