J.J. was a very loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always loving, sharing and giving. He was the life of the party, and nobody told a better joke. His love for cooking made him the best cook in the world.
J.J. was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the American Legion, Bicentennial Post # 579, The Lions Club, and St. John Berchman's Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Olivia C. Lawson in 1963; wife, Sylvia Trevino Lawson in 2005; and a son, Ronald Lawson.
Survivors include daughter, Jackie Lawson Salazar of San Antonio, TX; sons, Tommy Lawson and wife, Bobbie Jean of Las Vegas, NV, Jesse J. Lawson II and wife, Carmen of Cedar Park, TX, Daniel Lawson of Universal City, TX, and William Lawson of San Antonio, TX; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Elvira L. Alaniz of San Diego, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; all who he was close to and who loved him dearly.
