Jesse Hinojosa Sanchez, age 63, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026. He was a kind, loving, and gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. A Harlandale High School graduate from the Class of 1980, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed occasional trips to the casino (though he was never a big gambler) and, most of all, spending time with his beloved wife, Sylvia, and with family and friends.
Jesse had a lifelong love for hot rod cars and took great pride in anything with an engine and a classic shine. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and rarely missed a game, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. In his free time, Jesse enjoyed playing bingo, watching movies, and relaxing with his favorite western shows. Elvis Presley’s music held a special place in his heart and was often the soundtrack to his days.
He found joy in doing yard work and took satisfaction in caring for his surroundings, always willing to lend a helping hand. Jesse was known for his generous spirit and his genuine kindness—qualities that made him deeply loved by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He also enjoyed spending time at the Elvira Cisneros Senior Center, where he loved hanging out, visiting with friends, and being part of the community.
Jesse will be remembered for his warm heart, his gentle nature, and the love he freely gave. He leaves behind cherished memories that will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis C. Sanchez Sr. and Domitila Sanchez, and brothers, Sam Sanchez and Luis H. Sanchez Jr.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sylvia Ann Sanchez, siblings, Sonia De La Vega, Elaine Martinez, Adam H. Sanchez, Arthur H. Sanchez, Eva H. Sanchez, Paul H. Sanchez, George H. Sanchez, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends.
