Jesus "Jesse" Natividad Mata, born on December 25, 1947, left to be with the Lord on February 2, 2019, at the age of 71. He was born in Monterrey, Mexico, but came to the Great state of Texas in his teen years. He was preceded in death by his beloved Aunt Lydia Mata Avalos, Uncle Raul Mata and his wife, Luz Mata, and his ever beloved first wife Carolina L. Mata. He is survived by his three loving and cherished daughters Elizabeth Mata Garcia, Frances Mata Perez, and Carolina Mata Balderas, and his loving sisters Hortencia Villasana and Rosario Cervantes. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Raymond F. Garcia II, Noah C. Garcia, Luke A. Garcia, Katelynn Perez, Makayla C. Balderas, and Daniel Balderas, Jr.; sons-in-law, Raymond F. Garcia, Nick Perez, and Daniel Balderas; brothers-in-law, Vance Villasana and Henry Cervantes, and nephews, Vance, Jacob, Kristina, Lydia and Enrique. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, country music, and was ever faithful to his Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with his family and the Lopez family at family gatherings at Canyon Lake in their early years, Poteet weekend barbeques, Christmas Eve dinners, and many family celebrations. In his later years he was fortunate enough to travel to California and enjoyed his time there and returned to San Antonio to enjoy his final years with family and friends. The visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd, at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. Services will conclude after the chapel service.
