He graduated from St. Gerard's High School in 1955. He started with Pearl Brewery in San Antonio after serving in the Coast Guard, and went on to have his own beer distributorship, Golden Beverage of San Antonio. Jim was Past President of the Wholesale Beer Distributors of Texas, and Director Emeritus of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. He was currently serving as State Manager for the Pabst Brewing Company.
Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ann Meuth.
He is survived by his wife, Bea Landry of San Antonio; children, James A. Landry, Jr., of Portland, ME; Kimberly Griffin of San Antonio, Mark Landry of Bend, OR, Steven Landry of San Antonio, Tracey Naylor and son-in-law, Chris Naylor of Marion, IA; grandson, Brady Tidwell; sister, Shirley Marcus; brothers, Charles and Carl Landry; numerous nieces and nephews.
