Jimmy was a dedicated husband and father who provided valuable guidance. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, the University of Texas in Austin, and graduated with top honors from the Naval Base in Corpus Christi.
He pursued his passion for flying as a pilot and officer with the United States Marine Corp with great attention to detail, and later with United Airlines, Jimmy's dream was short lived after being diagnosed and losing the battle against ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease, which he met with intelligence and courage.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse S. Rivera and is survived by his wife, Tammy Rivera; children, Natasha, Casey, Victoria, India and Sydney; mother, Mary Alice Rivera; sisters, Ernestine Campos and husband George and Patricia Rivera; brothers, Jesse Rivera and Jacob Rivera; granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.
