Jo Ann Elbel Parsons

Jo Ann Elbel Parsons, 51, died Saturday, December 22, 2001, following a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She graduated from Sam Houston High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin. Jo Ann was an employee of Porter Loring Mortuaries for more than 18 years where she served as Administrative Assistant and later as Office Manager. She and her husband, Bill, celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary last June. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Gus and Lucille Margaret Elbel; and her sister, Sharon Lynn Elbel. She is survived by her husband, B. J. "Bill" Parsons; daughter, Jennifer Dyan Parsons; stepson, David Parsons; and grandson, Alec Parsons; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dan Hill; and niece, Stephanie Hill, all of San Antonio. Survivors also include Jo Ann's aunts, Kathryn Davis of Houston and Leona Williams of San Antonio; cousins, Mary Kay Maxwell and Margaret Ann Thompson of Houston, Carole Ann Riley of Austin, and Merna Elbel and Clifford Elbel of San Antonio. The family wishes to extend its deep appreciation to the entire Loring family for the care and concern during Jo Ann's illness.
