Joan MeMe Tyson

Our beloved Joan Tyson, was called home on Thursday, August 24, 2017. She was the most loving Mama, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend with some of our best memories of the wonderful aromas of soul-food in her house, and her heart felt words of wisdom.

Joan was born in the generation of self-independence and a strong will to endure any obstacles she faced. She took great pleasure in spending time with her children and grandchildren and in sharing her love. One of her greatest hobbies was shopping. Joan believed in family and gave us the treasure of her endless love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Corrine; and husband, Albert "A.J" Gistard Sr. Joan leaves behind to share her memory, her children: Michelle, Yolanda, Albert "Buggie",and Michael ; Grandchildren: Charles, Brandi, Cherrelle, Darion, Anbrinique, Imani, and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1st from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough.

On Saturday, September 2nd at 11:00 am, a funeral service will be held at True Vision Church, 2826 Ackerman Road, San Antonio, TX followed by interment in Meadowlawn Memorial Park.
