Joanne Mullen, beloved wife and mother, age 74 of San Antonio, passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, March 10, 2003. At her side was her daughter Ruth. The daughter of Richard B. and Ruth I. Valore. Joanne was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado and attended the University of Denver, graduating with a B.A. in journalism. She raised three children; Ruth, J.D. and Robert. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Mullen of San Antonio; her daughter, Ruth of New York City; her son, J.D. of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren, Lia Bradley, Chelsea and Jamie Mullen; and her brother, Richard J. Valore. At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
