

He lived a life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. He was a devout Catholic and served as an Altar Server during his youth. He enjoyed cooking, reading, and playing pool.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gorgonio Castaneda and Maria Gonzales Castaneda; granddaughter, Marcelina Guzman; grandson, Benjamin Castaneda, also, several siblings.
He is survived by his children, Margaret Ramos, Joe Castaneda Jr. (Gloria) and Christine Castaneda, grandchildren. Justin, Nicholas, Alex, Jeramie, Tracy, Sara, Adam, Natalie, Janessa, Krista (Lazaro), Aaron (Cassandra), Briana (Lynn), and Michelle; great grandchildren, Harley, Brooklyn, James, Luna, Scarlet, Rayne, Beau, Jonathon, Reina, Hugo, Tracy Jr, Aaron Jr. Anthony, Mia, Kadence, Kloe, JJ, Elyza, Deanna, Joseph, Jazmine, Javier, Ylizabeth, Anthony, Elena, Ivan, Vincent, Adriana, Ayden, Ayzaiah, Alijah, Theodore, Lilafina, Riley, Avery, Emily, and Nieliah; and great great granddaughter, Emori; siblings, Delia Fernandez, Micaela Salinas, Jose Morales and Timoteo Morales Jr.
The Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Midnight at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples, Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of The Resurrection at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1204 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237, Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237.ales Castaneda passed away on September 4, 2025.
