Joe Chavarria

School he served the Marines and Army for 15 years as a sniper instructor.

Joe leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Miriam, a daughter and son, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who will all miss him deeply.

Joe and his wife shared many wonderful memories. There was nothing more important to him than the people he loved; he was immensely proud of all his grandchildren.

He was a hard working man and was someone everyone loved and respected by everyone who crossed his path. His passion was running, he participated in numerous of Marathons, building aircraft

models, and reading.

A visitation for Joe will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211, US, on September 12, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Inurnment with Army Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road in San Antonio, Texas. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their final respects.
