I know he was a great father and husband, but he was also a great friend. 
Knowing him for years and coaching along side him in Pop Warner for the Edgewood Seminoles, I learned what he also taught me as a coach, to believe in what I do. And that is the main reason why I still enjoy coaching. The greatest year of Pop Warner in my life was in 1997, I will never forget the joy we felt as a team,to see Joe smile after all we had to over come to get there, winning the National Pop Warner Championship under his leadership.He also taught a lot of key values of life to the football players,to take life one day at a time. We will miss you.'

'Joe was my boss for a couple of years and I enjoyed working with him very much. I laugh everytime I remember that he labled my son, "the left fielder". He was also one of the best mentors I had when persuing my career as an Allstate agent. I remember his love and dedication to his son's, his wife and the teams he coached. They were the apples of his eye. I will miss him dearly.'
