Joe died on November 2, 2022, at the age of 84. Joe was born on January 24, 1938. He graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1955. After working at Joske’s Department Store for one year, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1956. He retired in 1982 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his time in service he was awarded with the Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (Silver Star), National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, RVN Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation, Gallentry Cross Medal (with palm), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Navy Commendation Medal. After retirement, Joe worked for the Department of Defense Printing Service at Kelly AFB until 1999. Soon after he went to work for Bexar County District Clerks Office in the records department where he retired in 2009.
Joe is survived by his beautiful family; sons, Joe R. Guerrero Jr. (Tracy), Robert Guerrero (Guadalupe), Richard Alexander Guerrero (Rose), and Steve Michael Guerrero (Debra); daughter, Cyndi Vuola (Larry); nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
