Joe C. Moorehead, 86, passed away November 26, 2024 in San Antonio, TX. He was born October 25, 1938, to Thurston and Lillian (Boone) Moorehead in McKinnon, Tennessee, the second of three children. He had an older brother, Donald, and a younger sister Mary Ann. When Joe was 4 years old the family moved to Puryear, Tennessee. Joe graduated from Puryear High School in 1957.
Mr. Moorehead moved to Texas in the early 1960’s and within a few years settled in San Antonio where he remained until his death. He loved living in Texas.
Joe Moorehead was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Watson (Keith), four nieces and one nephew, and some grand nieces and nephews. Mr. Moorehead loved to meet and be with people. From early in life his mother said, “He never was shy around strangers.” He enjoyed cars, fishing, and later in life watching basketball and football games. Although he was not a musician, he enjoyed music, especially gospel quartet singing. He also loved country swing dancing as long as he was able. He will be missed by family and many friends.
