

The Lord called upon Joe John Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, and grandfather on August 8, 2009 at the age of 81years. He was born in Asherton, Texas on June 23, 1928 to Jose Fabian and Narcisa Rodriguez.
He joined the U.S. Navy at the young age of 14 years. He served proudly during World War II on the USS Hornet. Joe John had a passion for baseball. He was recruited by the San Antonio Missions on Mission Road, as well as asked to try out for the Minnesota Twins. He denied such requests to pursue his education at St. Mary's University.
He played baseball on the Gloworm Lounge League and was a member of the Social Club. J.J. also worked for San Antonio Parks and Recreation as an umpire and score keeper. He was a member of Knights of Columbus for Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Joe John was known by many as the most kind-hearted person you could ever meet. His smile will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Yolanda Rodriguez; their children, Jodie, Jacob and his wife, Amy, Jason, and Joel Rodriguez, and Valene Salas; Margie Rodriguez former wife and loving mother to their children, Jeanette and Richard Flores, Joe John Rodriguez, Jr., Joyce and Nick Louis, James Rodriguez and Jessica and Juan Hernandez. He is preceded in death by their daughter, Joann Rodriguez; 17 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
