Mr. Joe A. Saavedra, age 100, of Bulverde, Texas passed away on January 25, 2026, in San Antonio, TX. He was born on November 26, 1925, in San Antonio, to parents, Guadalupe Aguillon and Jose M. Saavedra.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the Korean War. He retired from civil service at Kelly Air Force Base after twenty-five years.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Nora; and his son, Robert. Survived by his daughter, Mary Rangel; and his son, Eddie Saavedra; sisters, Helen Escoto and Olga Samaniego; grandchildren, Priscilla, Jesse, Tim, Brian, and Alan; ten great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Joe and Nora spent their last forty-five years living in Bulverde, Texas. They enjoyed spending their time clearing and fixing their property. They enjoyed many sunsets together and having their grandchildren over for the summer. Many memories of celebrations and special occasions will live on for many years.
Joe enjoyed using his hands doing auto repairs and home repair projects. He enjoyed problem solving the challenge to complete his goal.
He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. During good times, great times, and not so good times he was always ready to watch the cowboys play.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., on Monday, February 23, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholich Church- Honey Creek, 25781 State Highway 46 W, Spring Branch, Texas 78070, with a Rosary to follow at 10:00 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholich Church- Honey Creek, 25781 State Highway 46 W, Spring Branch, Texas 78070. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
