

Joe devoted his life to his family, church and to serve his country. He set an example of unconditional love, leadership, service and grace that will be his legacy.
He was the first-born son to Joe Godfrey Sandoval and Mary Sandoval, born in Roy, New Mexico on June 14,1940. After graduating from Dalhart High School, he attended Texas Tech University where he obtained two bachelor's degrees (BBA and BS). Later, he continued his education to obtain his master's degree (MBA) at Our Lady of the Lake University. He worked and retired from USAA and SAWS in San Antonio, Texas.
Joe also served his country with great pride. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force and later joined the Army National Guard, where he earned the rank of Major. He then became the Company Commander of the 149th PSC. He also took part in Operation Desert Storm.
Joe was an active parishioner at St. Helena's Catholic Church and was a part of the Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight from 1997-1999
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Sandoval, Leonard Sandoval, and Anthony Sandoval Martinez, and sister, Ana Arguello.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years Catherine Sandoval; daughters, Cynthia Sandoval and Traci Sandoval (Brian); son, Robert Sandoval (Candice); grandsons, Jacob Sandoval and Keaton Hawks; brother, Michael Sandoval; and sisters, Lydia Sintas and Cecilia Luera (Nick).
The family will receive friends from 5:30pm - 8:00pm Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
