John is an alumnus of MacArthur High School, where he also played football. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who lived a full life with no regrets - he experienced more than most people dream of.
John is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ballantine; parents, Mary Jane Deaner and John Knox Ballantine, II; granddaughter, Jordan Rayleen Burleson; sisters, Darlene Maynard and Nancy Ballantine; brother, Darin Ballantine; best friend and business associate, Tracy Shraim.
