John David Beyea Sr., 77, passed away on September 25, 2026. Born on December 27, 1948, in Hornell, New York, to Milo Hugh and Edna Beyea, John lived a life defined by unwavering service to his country, steadfast dedication to his family, and a wonderful sense of humor.
A proud patriot, John joined the United States Army at the age of 22. Over a distinguished 20-year military career, he traveled the world, served with honor during Desert Storm, and retired at the age of 42. Even after his military service concluded, John remained an active and welcoming presence in his community, taking on a role as a Walmart greeter where his friendly demeanor brightened the days of countless customers.
When he wasn't working, John could usually be found enjoying his two greatest everyday passions: spending time out on the golf course or sitting down to enjoy a big plate of spaghetti.
Above all else, John was a devoted family man. He shared 59 beautiful years of marriage with his loving wife, Carol Beyea, building a lasting legacy of love. He is survived by Carol; his sons, John David Beyea Jr. (Shirley) and Richard William Beyea (Sonia); his deeply cherished niece, Carrie; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Milo Hugh and Edna Beyea, and his siblings, Jaquelyn Hollister, Bonnie Kennell, Carl Beyea, and Ernest Beyea.
He will be remembered as a brave soldier, a loving husband and father, and a warm-hearted man who left the world a better, friendlier place than he found it.
