John Christian Bourell passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 7, 2019, from complications of heart failure. He was born on December 3, 1981, to Robert and Paula Bourell in San Antonio, Texas. John grew up with his parents and three sisters. He was the twin to his sister, Jaqueline, and they shared a special relationship throughout life.
Life was an adventure for John, and he was known for his compassion, generosity, unique sense of humor, and touching the hearts of everyone he encountered.
John studied Pre-Med at the University of Texas at San Antonio before pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit. He was in the jewelry industry for 18 years. He was intellectually intelligent, and people were drawn to him, to his knowledge of all things, and his endearing personality.
John was a sports enthusiast. He and his father shared a passion for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he was an unwavering fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed watching games together with family members.
John enjoyed adventure and family. He enjoyed strolls on the riverwalk with his mother, hiking, beach trips, and fishing. John was a movie enthusiast and enjoyed going to the movies with his father. He was always available to help his sisters with babysitting and with technical support. He helped anyone and everyone in need. John dedicated his life to the family. His greatest gift was serving others.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard & Idabelle Bourell; maternal grandmother, Lucia Dueñes; niece, Carabelle Ward. Survivors include his father, Robert Bourell; mother, Paula Bourell and husband, John Shaw; sister, Cynthia Jones and husband, Mark; sister, Tiffany Greenwood and husband, Mike; twin sister, Jaqueline Ward and husband, John; brother, Robert Bourell, Jr.; nieces and nephews: Monica Curtis and husband, Tim; Austin Jones, Dr. Andre Jones and wife, Gloria; Moriah Temple and husband, Troy; Avery Jones and wife, Meghan; Michaela Jones, Ethan Greenwood, Jack Greenwood, Blake Greenwood, Maccabee Greenwood, Mordecai Greenwood, Noah Ward, Brody Ward, Sienna Ward, Milaina Ward, and Corbin Ward.
