'Two big brothers sadly gone and sorely missed.'

'We were so sad to hear of John's passing. He was a dear friend to Mum and Dad and it was through John and Ellen that they moved to Hornchurch and became neighbours. Many hilarious stories emanate from the two houses over the years and Craig and I became friends with Jackie, Paul, Susan and Laura. Over the years the family moved about and the friendship remained strong. We visited them in Holland and in the States on seperate occasions. Martin and I went over 2 years ago and had a great time visiting in San Antonio. Fortunately John and Ellen were frequent visitors to the UK so we were able to see them more than the distance would usually allow. What makes the mark a great friendship is when friends meet up after however long and it is like there has been no lapse and this has been the friendship of the Campbells and The Dinning's. The last time we all met up was at Andrew and Susans in Dunmow, we had a fab afternoon and as usual the odd glass (!) was imbibed and John approached the piano. Mum, Dad and Ellen were all arm in arm signing along to the greats, a treasured memory. We are so sad, an era has ended. Our love to you all.'
