John Chandler Colquhoun, 52, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on December 10, 2024. John was born on April 13, 1972 and he grew up in Odem, TX where he cultivated a love for God, family, and his community. John was preceded in death by his father, Harry Stark Colquhoun Jr, and mother, Mary Ellen (Thomas) Colquhoun.
A proud alumnus of Texas A&M University - Kingsville, John earned his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering before furthering his education with a master’s degree from UTSA. His career as a Civil Engineer spanned over two decades, during which he made significant contributions to the field. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), where he served on the board of the local chapter.
John was a devoted member of his church, where he volunteered his time and energy to various ministries. His faith and commitment were a cornerstone of his life.
A loving husband and father, John cherished special time spent with his family. He is survived by his Wife, Shelly and their two daughters, Paige and Mackenzie, with whom he loved to travel and vacation. He spent many hours watching his girls dance, often saying it brought him great pride to watch them perform. He is also survived by his brother, who was a source of lifelong camaraderie.
John’s legacy of kindness and dedication to faith and family will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His generosity, leadership and commitment to a well placed joke will be deeply missed by family, friends and colleagues. May his memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
