

John was born in San Antonio, Texas, June 4, 1933, to the late John Laurence Dillman and Emma Diers Dillman.
The ancestral home of the Dillman family was the Royal Duchy of Nassau, Germany.
John is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Jean Krawietz Dillman, godchildren, Karen Pawelek Dzuik, Mary Supik, and Carl W. Brotherman, cousins, Mary Fremgen Supik, and Teresa Fremgen Holland. John had a warm, friendly personality and is also survived by a host of friends.
He was united with Barbara Jean in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at the original St. Michael's Catholic Church on January 21, 1956.
John was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He attended daily Mass and received Holy Communion. He spent an hour each day in Eucharistic Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament Mt. 26:40.
He was a graduate of St. Gerard College Prep School. He attended San Antonio College, with mathematics his outstanding subject. John was called to serve his country in the United States Army. He attended Radar School and received the Good Conduct Medal. Sergeant John W. Dillman, USA, was honorably discharged.
John's career was in the electrical field as an electrical estimator of major and minor construction and also held a Master Electrician License. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
The Photographic Society of America awarded John the PSA Gold Medal several times for his pictures, also silver and bronze medals. His photography, entered around the world in color slide form, won gold medals in photo journalism and nature photography at major salons of photography. He served as a judge in Texas and Louisiana in salon competition. His pictures with articles appeared in Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine and other journals. His photography has been exhibited in San Antonio in print form. John enjoyed travel in the U.S., Europe, and the Caribbean.
