On Saturday, August 26, Dr. John "Sock" Frederic Forks ascended to Heaven after losing a three-year battle with colon cancer. A prominent OB/GYN for almost 30 years, John touched the lives of so many people.
He will be sorely missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him. John will be remembered most for being a devoted husband, a loving father, and a compassionate man. He is dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis and his brother Paul.
John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen; children, Jason Forks and wife Kara, Kris Forks and wife Jenny and Kacey Forks; grandchildren, Grayson, Avery, Maddox, Hallie and Tristan, mother, Rhoda Forks; sisters and brothers, Joan Esparza, Cathy Naylor, Tom Forks, David Forks and Joe Forks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Although the beauty and sentiment expressed in flowers is appreciated, it would mean more to the family if those wishing to send flowers would instead schedule routine physical examinations to avoid colon cancer.
