

He was born on August 17, 1922 in Newton County, Texas, and was a resident of San Antonio for 41 years. He was retired.
John was preceded in death by his loving parents, Albert and Ola Hamilton; and two brothers, A.J. and Mack Hamilton. He is survived by LaQueita, his wife of 52 years; as well as his three sons, Gregory Wayne of Memphis, Tennessee, Kendall Dean (Alice) of Lakeway, Texas, and Kevin Marc (Ronda) of San Antonio; and Rebecca Hamilton, daughter-in-law, of Jupiter, Florida. Grandchildren are Chad McKeithen (Beth), Shannon Callahan (Brandon), Gannon Hamilton, Laura Kate Hamilton, and John Hamilton, all of Memphis Tennessee; Tyler and Wyatt Hamilton of Jupiter, Florida; Luke and Keely Hamilton of Lakeway, Texas; and Haley and Shawn Hamilton of San Antonio. Great-grandchildren are Keagen Callahan, Drew and Madison McKeithen of Memphis, Tennessee. He has two sisters, Lavern Jenkins and Imagene (Doyle) Duggan from Beaumont, Texas. There are numerous other relatives and friends.
He proudly served his country during World War II as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army. This included combat in the Battle of the Bulge.
He had a special love and interest for his church, First Assembly of God, San Antonio.
