John H. Hensley died March 9, 2016 after a long illness. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 20, 1929, and was the only child of Oran H. and Katie B. Hensley, who preceded him in death. John graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1945 and attended the University of Corpus Christi. He retired after a 36 year career with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. John married Elsie Perrigue in 1954 and she survives him. He is also survived by his son, William (wife Connie); daughter, Gayle Hensley; grandchildren, Richard Hammock (wife Melissa), Megan Hammock, Brittany Hensley; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ethan and Travis Hammock, Paula Hensley; former son-in-law, Kyle Hammock. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Douglas A. Diehl officiating.
