John Rodney Johnson

John Rodney Johnson was born in Temple, Tx on November 20, 1944 to John Carlton and Helen (Rook) Johnson, and passed away on August 28, 2011 in San Antonio, TX. He was a proud graduate of Macarthur High School class of ’64. He truly enjoyed working on cars and spent the majority of his life as a mechanic. John was united in marriage to D’Ann Elizabeth Hury and had one child, Jordan Alexander Johnson. After the death of D’Ann he spent his last seven years happily married to Deenie Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents John C. and Helen Johnson, wife D’Ann Johnson, sister-in-law Jane Johnson, nephews Peter Jr. Johnson and Daryl Hury. He is survived by his wife, Deenie Johnson; son, Jordan Johnson and his wife Keely. He was "grum-pa" to step-children Paula Oliver and husband Ollie, Mike Stevens, John Paul Stevens, L’Lee Cameron, Deano Stevens and wife Tanya; step-grandchildren, Haylee and Hanson Oliver, Collin Cameron, Niko, Michael, Noa, Miranda and Sammy Stevens; Brothers Bobby Johnson, Peter Johnson and Wife, Mary; brother-in-law, Charles Hury and wife Alice. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday September 1, 2011 in the Sunset Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
