

He was the last surviving member of a family of seven brothers and sisters. Having experienced the depression era as a young man, he had developed an extraordinary work ethic, which he passed along to his children and other close relatives. He was also a strong advocate for education and offered much encouraging advice to his many friends and relatives.
In his younger years, he was an avid hunter who loved his dogs, good horses and hunting. His father was killed in an accident before he was born and as he was growing up he took the major responsibility for his widowed mother. He worked in the depression era Civil Conservation Corp in that endeavor. In 1939, he joined the Army and served in World War II.
In 1942 he married his wife Cleo. They were married for 63 years. He was a long time resident of San Antonio where he completed a 31 year career with civil service at Kelly Air Force Base. He was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church and had deep religious beliefs that he would share with his family and friends.
His wife Cleo Kerry; his son Patrick Kerry and wife Patricia; his daughter Paula Moos and her husband Jack; and son John R. Kerry survive him. Six grandkids and seven great-grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
