

John Raymond Kincade, a loving and thoughtful soul, graced this world with his presence on October 6, 1936, in Edison, OH, and left it richer for his wisdom and kindness on July 20, 2024, in San Antonio, TX.
He was the son of Ohmer Stanton Kincade and Nina Bell (House) Kincade, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his sisters Joan, Mary, and Nellie, and his son, John Robert Kincade, Sr.
John was a man who believed in the power of education and the dignity of service, values he upheld from his time as a student at Edison High School, graduating in 1954, through his service in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. His pursuit of knowledge continued at Elkhart University, where he earned a degree in Medical Technology in 1959, and later at Delta Community College, where he obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1977. These academic achievements were the bedrock of John's notable career where he touched the lives of countless individuals with his care.
Professionally, John's influence was as diverse as it was significant. At Bay Medical Center in Bay City, MI, he undertook various roles from Medical Technologist to Registered Nurse, demonstrating a commitment to excellence that knew no bounds. His passion for nurturing the next generation shone through in his coaching and trainer positions for youth sports. As an advocate in the local Nursing union, John championed the rights and welfare of his peers in healthcare with dedication.
Upon relocating to San Antonio, TX, John continued to excel in his nursing career, working at Baptist Medical Center, Methodist Hospital, and Methodist Specialty & Transplant Hospital. His expertise in urology earned him the distinction of being the first Certified Urology Registered Nurse in the city, reflecting his relentless drive for professional growth and the betterment of patient care.
John's zest for life extended into his personal interests. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was a devoted fan of college athletics, especially the OSU Buckeyes. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and looked forward to every visit there. His eagerness to embrace new challenges in nursing mirrored his love for learning about and mastering new procedures in his field. His vitality was an inspiration to his colleagues and a boon to the many lives he enriched through his work.
Above all, family was the cornerstone of John's life. He is survived and dearly remembered by his loving wife, Monica; his daughters, Janet (Ralph) Mayen and Caryn (Cornelio) Sanchez; his grandsons, Steven (Starr) Mayen, Joshua (Stephanie) Mayen, John Robert Kincade, Jr, Brendan Kincade, Grayson Sanchez, and Gunnar Sanchez; and his great-granddaughter, Wren Mayen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. To them, John was more than a patriarch—he was a counselor, a beacon of wisdom, laughter, and boundless love, guiding them with a gentle hand through the ebbs and flows of life.
John Raymond Kincade's legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and unwavering support. His influence on the nursing community and the countless lives of those he cared for will be felt for generations to come. He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passage through life leaves behind a trail of cherished memories and lessons that continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved him. John's life was a beautiful testament to the impact one person can have, and his memory will be treasured forever.
