'Hello there. I have been living in the home John built since around 2009 with my sister and father. I can feel the love that he put into making it just looking at its structure from afar.'

'John was my friend for more than 25 years and I was always glad to see him. We were lovers in 2010 and 2011 after both had been in long relationships with other men. We found each other at golds gym working out alone so from that moment and the better part of a year we spent everyday together. 
Or should I say part of everyday together. We were two old fools acting young and laughing at ourselves quite often. I had never laughed with a partner like we would laugh and find ourselves just being kids. 
John shared everything with me and that was to include his love for Manuel and all the great things about the life they shared. I love Manuel and them getting back together was no surprise to me or any of their close friends. 
I was happy for them and it was never a bad situation between us. I am thankful for that and the friendship I have with Manuel. 
So often gay boys are not afforded a close loving relationship with their fathers while growing up and into adulthood but this was not the case with John and he so often told me stories of the things his dad did for he and his brothers and that continued even more when Mary came into the picture and he told how awful they had been to her when she moved in with them and he made her cry and how she was only ever nice to them and how kind and generous she was and that she really was a wonderful mother. When he spoke of his biological mother who in his words abandoned them when he was young for a kind of show business life because that was her dream to sing and dance. 
He said that side of the family was so talented with music and how much fun it was to visit them and that it was always crazy. He loved his dad and Mary so very much. And after meeting them I sure understood why they were held us such high esteem. 
John was a class act and I am a better person for having the close relationship with him. I miss him and think of his very often.'

'Nine years ago at Ballys, John and Manny were the first two people I met here in San Antonio. John introduced me to my core group of friends here. John welcomed me into his life with open arms, helped celebrate with the core group me moving here full time 7.5 years ago. We celebrated Fiestas, Holidays, co hosted a few pool parties and through it all had many laughs, a few crys, a couple of verbal slaps and more laughs. He like me was a man with strong opinions and often we were like old lions seeing who could roar the loudest. 
 In November at Mannys birthday gathering, I extended my hand to shake Johns, he gently pushed my hand a side and gave me a big hug. That was John and that hug meant more to me than I expressed. The past two months John and I exchanged anti ageing tips and laughed about the pain of beauty. 
 John I will miss you telling me I will never learn when it comes to dating or your comment when I got passionate about my views on ohhhh so many things Can I help you off of that soap box or when you would say watch out, hes in a mood and then you would smile bringing me back to the reality of whats important. We all have that touch stones in our lifes and Ive been blessed enough to have a handful of touch stones. For whatever reason John was one of mine. 
 Im so glad we all celebrated this past Christmas Eve together and am glad youve been part of my life. I will miss you John Knowles, Thank You for being in my life.
